Big Sand Mound Field Day 2018

The Big Sand Mound Nature Preserve is an important ecosystem in the Midwest, known for its sand prairie, shallow ponds and woodlands. The Big Sand Mound Field Day is a chance for the public to visit and explore one of Iowa's premier natural areas and learn from specialists in the natural resources and ecology field.  Many of the sessions are hikes  that can include walking over sand or forested areas with gently rolling terrain.

This event is provided by the Big Sand Mound Advisory Committee.

Registration is available online at Eastern Iowa Community College.  Choose course #199310 for youth 12 & under (free); Choose course #196475 for youth 13 & up ($15.00).
