Louisa County Fair Booths: July 27-30, 9:00am to
4:00pm at Louisa County Fairgrounds, Columbus Junction.
Enjoy "Nature Trail" to learn about local plants and
animals.
August
Friday Night Flights at the Port Louisa National
Wildlife Refuge: An auto tour route will be open on
Friday nights of August 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 6:00 pm to
9:00 pm. Shorebirds are abundant at this time of year,
with many warblers still around, geese are starting to stage
up and blue-wing teal drop in. It is a great time to
get out the binoculars and field guides and enjoy getting
outdoors. For more information call the refuge

Running Wild Trail Run/Walk:
Saturday August 21, 8:30 am at the Port Louisa National
Wildlife Refuge. A unique opportunity to Run Wild in a
3 and 5 mile run or walk courses.
Conservation Station: As part of the Running Wild
activities on August 21, 2010 come and see a mobile learning
center sponsored by the Iowa Learning Farm. There is a
rainfall simulator and displays about soil quality,
groundwater, prairies and wetlands.

River Paddle & Water Trail Dedication: Saturday
September 25th at the Iowa River - Hills Access at 11:00 am.
You can paddle from Iowa City to Hills for the dedication
and again in the afternoon. Details will be posted at
the Iowa Water Trail website -
